Cakewalk on the PC does pretty much the same as Garageband except you have to set up a load of hardware with Cakewalk and Garageband doesn’t leave you with an unpleasant after-taste of failure.
This morning I’ve been toying with beats (and despite my gfs protestations) I seem to be making progress. Once I have a number of time signatures down I intend having some serious playtime and exploring the potential to make layered sound. This will provide welcome space and with some time alone with the Macbook i’ll be able to (hopefully) create demos of songs and song ideas that in some cases have been swilling around in my head for years.
Not unconnected to this with the Easter holidays from school around the corner the chance to record some tracks with long time friend, guitarist and sideburn afficianado David Haskett may finally come, or it’ll be a shambles one of the two.
I think i deserve the sideburn title more hasskkuotch
